Franco De Vita was born on January 23, 1954, in Caracas, Venezuela. His parents were of Italian descent. After spending part of his childhood in Italy, he returned to Venezuela, where he studied piano and music. He began his career in the early 1980s with a band named 'Ícaro'. Subsequently, in 1984, he released his debut solo album, which was self-titled. The songs on this album turned him into an overnight star in Venezuela and neighboring Latin American countries.
