Anitta was born in 'Honório Gurgel,' an extremely impoverished neighborhood (favela) in Rio de Janeiro. Inspired by her grandparents, she began singing in the church choir at the age of just eight. She favored this role because it allowed her to appear bold and attractive without looking vulgar. At sixteen, she completed a course in Business Administration at a technical school and worked at a mining company, yet her true dream had always been to make a name for herself in the world of music.
